Quick answer
FCE3 means the appliance could not connect to the router. Reset power and your wireless router, then look at signal strength.
Model note: Whirlpool reuses codes across series and model years, so FCE3 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.

What this codemay mean.
A plain-language reading of the code — always confirm against your model’s documentation.
Mean
The appliance could not connect to the router.
FCE3 is another network code: the appliance could not connect to the router. It is listed for over-the-range microwaves and ranges. Possible causes in the manual run from a connection time out and poor signal to a failed router, the Wi-Fi Module in the appliance or the wiring.
Start at the appliance
Power the appliance down at the breaker for one minute, power it up, and monitor it for one minute so you know whether FCE3 stays away. Verify appliance operation.
Move on to the router
With no link between the Wi-Fi Module and the wireless router, resetting the router is the next step. Take a smart device to the appliance location and check that it works there, and confirm other Wi-Fi devices work. When they do, the router is disconnected from power for 2 minutes and the appliance for 2 minutes, each reconnected afterwards.
When the signal is weak
Few bars at the appliance? Try a new spot for the router, a compatible extender, or your Internet Service Provider.
