Whirlpool

Review Process.

How a Whirlpool guide is checked before it goes live — mechanical story first, then a separate pass that strips unsafe DIY.

Whirlpool

Who reads a draft before you do.

If we cannot stand behind a cause, it stays a possibility. If a step needs a live meter, it comes out.

Drafting for a real cabinet

Each guide starts from a specific appliance job — cooling, draining, heating, tumbling — not from a keyword. The first cut has to make sense to someone standing in a kitchen or laundry room.

Technical pass

Claims about likely causes are reviewed against how these products are built: defrost on refrigerators, drain paths on dishwashers and washers, ignition on gas ranges, and airflow on dryers. If we cannot stand behind a cause, it is phrased as a possibility, not a verdict.

The safety pass is separate

Someone reads the page looking for instructions that would put a reader into gas, line voltage, sealed refrigerant, or a microwave cabinet. Those steps are removed, not softened with a disclaimer at the bottom.

Codes and model numbers

Error-code pages are not auto-filled from other brands. If a code is not published here, the review process is to leave it unpublished rather than guess. Model archives follow the same rule.

After publication

When a reader or a technician flags a bad explanation, the page is edited and the modified date moves. Related pages get a look if the same unsafe sentence was reused.

How to get a page looked at

Use the contact page, name the URL, and quote the sentence that looks wrong. We do not need an account or a form beyond that.

Whirlpool

Flag a claim that feels wrong.

Name the URL and the sentence. Missing error-code pages are gaps, not invitations to guess.

Corrections go through contact. We do not add unpublished codes to make a page look complete.
