Refrigerator Repair
A Whirlpool refrigerator that warms groceries, ices over one compartment, or drips onto the floor is telling you which job failed — cooling, defrost, or water. We test that on site and explain the result before a part is ordered.

What we fix and restore.
French-door, side-by-side, and bottom-freezer Whirlpool refrigerators share the same basic job: move heat out of two compartments and keep moisture from turning into a slab of ice. When that job slips, the clues are rarely identical. A cold freezer with a warm fresh-food section often points to airflow or defrost. Both sections warm can be as simple as a control setting — or as involved as a sealed-system problem a homeowner should not open.
Ice and water dispensers add their own plumbing: inlet valves, filters, and a harvest cycle that can stall while the rest of the cabinet still cools. We use the model and serial plate to identify the cabinet, then measure temperatures, listen to fans, and check the drain path instead of swapping parts on a hunch.
If the refrigerator is still running, leave food in place until we arrive unless the smell or leak makes that unsafe. Photograph any display message. Do not puncture lines or remove compressor covers.

Common problems we fix.
Typical symptoms we diagnose on-site for this appliance.
Fresh-food section warm while the freezer still feels cold
Both compartments warmer than usual
Heavy frost on the freezer back wall or evaporator cover
Water under the crisper drawers or in front of the cabinet
Ice maker stalled or dispenser dripping
New grinding or rattling from the freezer or machine compartment
Whirlpool®
Our diagnostic process.
What we check on site before recommending any repair.
-
What each compartment is doing
We ask which section failed first, whether doors seal, and how long groceries have been at risk — those details narrow the test list.
-
Temperatures, not guesses
We measure cabinet temperatures against what the controls are asking for, rather than relying on how the shelves feel.
-
Air path and frost
We look for blocked interior vents, a door that is not seating, and frost patterns that suggest a defrost or drain problem.
-
Fans, sensors, and water
We test evaporator and condenser fans, thermistors, and dispenser or ice-maker water components when the symptom involves those systems.
Whirlpool®
The repair process.
Clear estimate first — then parts, repair and verification.
-
A number you can accept or decline
After the tests, you get a written estimate for the recommended repair. Nothing is installed until you agree.
-
The part matched to this cabinet
If a replacement is needed, we identify it from the model and serial information and tell you what will go in before we order it.
-
Work in the kitchen, not a teardown
We complete the approved repair, keep the work area contained, and avoid opening sealed refrigerant circuits unless that is the diagnosed path.
-
Cooling check before we pack up
We confirm the cabinet is pulling down and that ice or water functions behave as expected for the repair that was approved.

Expertise & guarantee.
-
Technician expertise
Whirlpool refrigerators run timed defrost, adaptive defrost, and dual-evaporator layouts depending on the cabinet. Knowing which layout you have — from the model plate, not from a generic “fridge repair” script — is what keeps the diagnosis from chasing the wrong fan.
-
Your service guarantee
When a refrigerator repair is completed, workmanship coverage is spelled out with the estimate. Duration and exclusions are written, not implied.
Safety first Refrigerant lines, compressors, and live evaporator heaters are not homeowner work. If you smell burning from the machine compartment, unplug the refrigerator if you can do so safely and leave the back panel alone.

Frequently asked questions.
Power to the lamp only means the cabinet is energized. Cooling depends on fans, sealed-system flow, and defrost. We measure both compartments to see which job failed.
A one-time thaw can clear a blocked drain, but frost that returns in days usually means the defrost system or a door-seal leak is still there.
Keep it if the freezer is still near freezing. Move perishable items if both sections are clearly warm. We cannot certify food safety; use your own judgment on time and temperature.
