What this codemay mean.
A plain-language reading of the code — always confirm against your model’s documentation.
Mean
FC E0 is listed with reset steps only.
Front load Whirlpool washers can display FC E0, written FCE0 in some listings. Whirlpool’s product help gives reset steps for it and does not name a cause.
Reset the washer
Cycle power to the control. Resetting can sometimes solve issues, much like restarting a computer. The washer needs to be disconnected from power for 5 minutes. If it is plugged into an outlet, unplug it for 5 minutes and plug it back in.
If FC E0 stays after the reset, call (310) 448-6692 or use washer repair. We will want the code as displayed, the model number and a note that you unplugged the washer.
Stop immediately if you notice smoke, sparks, a burning smell, gas odor, or water near electrical parts.
Safe
Important
Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
