Whirlpool

What this code may mean.

A plain-language reading of the code — always confirm against your model’s documentation.

The oven could not connect to the router; there may be a Wi-Fi module, signal or router problem.

The manual lists it for wall ovens.

About the FCE3 code

With FCE3, the oven failed to connect to your router. There may be a Wi-Fi module problem tied to connection time out, weak signal, a failed router, the module in the appliance, or the associated wiring.

What the manual says to do

  1. Breaker off for one minute, breaker on again.
  2. Check the oven for one minute to ensure the error does not reappear, and verify operation.
  3. Reset your wireless router. Does a smartphone, tablet or other Wi-Fi capable device operate correctly? Take it to where the oven sits to check.
  4. If yes, remove power from the router for 2 minutes, restore it, then remove power from the oven for 2 minutes and restore that too.

If the signal is weak and you do not have full bars, try a new router position, a compatible signal extender, or a call to your Internet Service Provider.

Related codes

Also worth a look: FCE8: a reset-only entry; FCE2 covers the same router message; FCE1 covers a router connection failure.
