Look for water, then check the water supply connection points. The rubber washer must sit properly in each fitting, and couplings are tightened by hand first.
Make sure the float switch is connected, with its connector fully seated, and that no wire or cord touches the motor or the lower tub.
If water sits in the drip tray, empty it. Take care with the float switch wire when removing the tray.
Too many suds?
Dish soap makes suds; dishwasher detergent does not. If foam is visible when you open the door, switch the dishwasher off and let it settle. The wrong detergent, or too much of it, can cause over-sudsing, so use only detergent made for automatic dishwashers.
