Appliance Cooktop
Quick answer

F0E1 relates to cookware and pot size on induction zones. Press On/Off twice and try another zone or pot.

Model note: Whirlpool reuses codes across series and model years, so F0E1 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.

Whirlpool

What this code may mean.

A plain-language reading of the code — always confirm against your model’s documentation.

Cookware or base diameter does not match the ferromagnetic surface of the pan.

F0E1 on an induction cooktop is about the pot or pan on the zone. The cookware and the zone have to suit each other.

This code applies to induction cooktops.

Is the right cookware on the zone?

Use only pots and pans of ferromagnetic material suitable for induction: enameled steel, cast iron, or stainless steel designed for induction cooking. A magnet shows whether a pot is magnetic. Pot quality and base structure change cooking performance, and some stated base diameters do not match the actual ferromagnetic surface. Some pans have only part of the bottom in ferromagnetic material; those areas can heat unevenly or at lower temperatures. If the base is mainly non-ferromagnetic, the cooktop might not recognize the pan and will not switch the zone on.

Glass, ceramic, copper and aluminum do not work with induction cooking.

Is the pot the right size?

Choose pots of a suitable minimum diameter and use the cooking zone that fits the bottom of the pot best. Center the pot well on the zone. Pots that exceed the perimeter of the zone are not recommended.

Clearing the code

Press the On/Off button twice to remove F0E1 and restore the cooking zone. Then try the cookware on a different cooking zone, or switch to different cookware.
