About this appliance.
The cavity lamp and the magnetron are not the same system. A countdown with cold food is a heating failure. A still turntable is annoying and makes hot spots; it is not automatically a magnetron.
Over-the-range models also ventilate the cooktop. A dead vent fan with a microwave that still heats is a motor or switch job, not “a new microwave.” Mounting hardware matters: a unit that sags is a safety issue before it is a parts issue.
Arcing, a sharp electrical buzz, or a brown waveguide cover are reasons to unplug the oven and leave the wrapper on.
